Academic Year 2024/2025 – Opening information

Our lottery for accommodation for Academic Year 24/25 is now open.

Please read the below information carefully to apply:

  • The lottery will remain open for one week and will close at 12noon on Monday April 22nd – no exceptions!
  • You can apply at any point from 12noon Monday April 15th to 12noon Monday April 22nd to be included in the lottery. The time of your application during this week will not affect your chances in the lottery.

  • All applications will need to come through the website – we do not accept applications through phone or email.

  • Students can only make one application per village lottery. Students with multiple applications to the same village will be removed from the lottery completely.

  • Students must apply in their own name. Students applying under another name or a parent or guardians name would be cancelled and this cannot be changed at a later date.

  • Students will need to select a room preference when applying. This does not affect your chance of getting a room in the lottery. If you are successful in the lottery and your first preference room type is not available, you would be offered the next available option.

  • There is no charge to apply to the lottery. You will be required to pay a deposit once you are offered a room.

  • There will be an option to apply for a full academic year, autumn semester only or spring semester only room. You will join the waitlist for these options ahead of the lottery taking place.

  • Students who do not receive a room in the lottery will be automatically waitlisted.

  • Once the lottery is complete, we will review all applications and aim to respond to all applicants by mid May.

 

To apply you will need your personal information including your PPS number.

If you do not receive your security code, please check your junk/spam folder for ‘donotreply@mcp.ie’ and it will appear in your email.

Summer Accommodation Prices are as follows:
Grove Island Student Village:
Length of Stay:  Full summer – 9- 13 weeks   – from €130/week 
Length of Stay: 5-8weeks –  from €140/week    
Length of Stay:  1-4weeks   –   from €150/week       
 

Grove Island is a purpose-built Village. It houses 300 students in four- and five-bedroom apartments. The village includes a shopping centre with supermarket, retail outlets and state of the art leisure centre. The village offers free on-street parking around Grove Island Student Village with permits issued to students.

Accommodation

All bedrooms are en-suite and come complete with large study desk and adequate wardrobe space.

The adjoining living room, dining room and kitchen are fully furnished and are equipped with crockery, utensils and cutlery for each resident.

Kitchens are fully equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, hob and oven.

Parking

The village offers limited free on-street parking around Grove Island Student Village with permits issued to students.

Students can also avail of the use of the multi storey car park beside Grove Island at special discounted rates for students.

Rent 2024/2025

Rent is based on a 38-week lease.

(Sept 2nd 2024 to May 23rd 2025)

 

Deposit due once room is confirmed

Rental fees are split into 9 instalments. 

Instalments are due in advance on the 15th of each month from August 2024 to April 2025.

Electricity and utility fees are a once off charge due in advance of checking in. Both of these payments are due on the 15th of August for full year and autumn bookings and 15th of December for Spring bookings.

Deposit for the 2024/2025 Academic Year is equal to one instalment of rental fees

  • First Year Students

A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of the deposit.

First year applicants must notify us VIA EMAIL no later than 3 days from when the First Round Offers (CAO Offer Day is Day One) are made if they wish to cancel their booking.

A €50.00 cancellation fee will apply. Cancellation after the 3rd day will result in Total Loss of Deposit.

Any 1st Year Applications cancelled before release of CAO offers will be refunded €400.00.

  • New Students

Should you cancel prior to 31st July 2024 a €400 refund will apply.

 

Cancellation after this date will result in Total Loss of Deposit. 

 

Cancellation of bookings received from 1st August 2024 once deposit is paid will result in Total Loss of Deposit.

  • Re-bookers

Your deposit from 2023/2024 is carried forward into 2024/2025.

Should you incur charges following your check out room inspection, you will need to pay a deposit top up charge to ensure your deposit remains at one months rental fees for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Should you cancel prior to 31st of July 2024 then a refund of €400 will apply pending final inspection.

Cancellation after this date will result in Total Loss of Deposit.
